Aaron Rodgers: Jordan Love is the ‘master’ of Packers offense

Green Bay Packers third-year quarterback Jordan Love has impressed many in training camp and pre-season this month, including 10-time Pro Bowl player Aaron Rodgers.

Rodgers talking about Love, via Green Bay Press-Gazette. “But it’s just the little things that will help him level up, it’s mostly the footwork and the little things like the angle of his arm when he does the running action, the fake goalkeeper, the fake action he does. That, running solutions and RPO games, helps to connect to the running game. That’s what I love to see.”

Love, 23, finished Thursday night’s pre-season against the Kansas City Chiefs with 16 finishes in 26 148-yard attempts. While he didn’t throw a touchdown pass and threw an intercept, Packers coach Matt LaFleur also had plenty of praise for the young midfielder.

“I always look at the numbers at the end of it and say, ‘That doesn’t make sense,'” LaFleur told Press-Gazette. “I thought he did a lot of good things.”

Love, a first-round pick in 2020, is under contract for at least the next two seasons, though the Packers have the chance to play a fifth year if they choose the next season. Rodgers will turn 39 later this year and signed a three-year, $150.6 million contract extension with the Packers in March.

Last season, Love was forced to operate in a regular season when Rodgers was disqualified due to a positive COVID test. Love ended with 190 yards of passes, one touchdown and one interception in a 13-7 loss to the Chiefs.
