Aaftab Poonawala Ground Shraddha Walkar’s Bones In Mixer, Say Cops

On May 18, both were planning to go to Mumbai, but Aaftab Poonawala canceled his ticket.

New Delhi:

Aaftab Poonawala used a stone grinder on the bones of his living partner Shraddha Walkar and discarded the powder. Her head was one of the last pieces he threw away after three months, Delhi Police claimed. The 6,600-page indictment of the infamous refrigerator murder in Delhi lists a host of gruesome details. Among other things, it is also mentioned that on May 18, after killing Shraddha, Poonawala had dinner with chicken rolls brought from Zomato.

Shraddha Walkar and Aaftab Poonawala moved to Delhi last May. However, the relationship was unstable and the two argued over many issues, including Aftaab Poonawala’s cost and many girlfriends. He had a girlfriend “all the way from Delhi to Dubai,” the allegation says.

On May 18, both were planning to go to Mumbai, but Aaftab Poonawala suddenly canceled his ticket. This was followed by another fight over costs and in the heat of the moment, Poonawala strangled her.

The allegation said he initially thought of packing the body in a plastic bag and disposing of it. He even bought a bag, but rejected the idea thinking he would be immediately arrested. In the end, he decided to dismember the body and bought a saw, a hammer, and three knives. Then he had to use a torch, especially to separate the fingers.

The body was cut into 35 pieces and stored in a refrigerator. The allegation said Poonawala would take the packages out of the refrigerator and leave them in the kitchen whenever one of his girlfriends visited.

Poonawala has kept Shraddha Walkar’s cell phone. Google data reveals that her account ran from his phone after May 18. The allegation says he then disposed of her cell phone along with the lipstick. hers in Mumbai.

Less than 20 pieces of Shraddha Walkar’s body have been recovered. The head has not yet been restored.

During drug analysis and lie tests held late last year, Aaftab Poonawala allegedly admitted to murder. The allegation sheet mentions that he stated that he felt remorse.

However, Poonawala’s confessions may not be accepted as evidence. Even his original confession to the police could not be used in court. The testimony of the arrested person can only be used as evidence when it is presented before the judge.

Police are relying on forensic science to build a watertight case and every step must be independently corroborated.
