MasterChef fan Julie Goodwin has announced her new ambassadorial role after her stint on the cooking show.
On Friday, the 51-year-old revealed that she is now an ambassador for Beyond Blue’s first signature fundraising event, Big Blue Table.
The cause is certainly important to Julie, who has been public about her battle with mental health in the past.

Julie wrote on Instagram: “I am delighted to announce that I am an ambassador for Beyond Blue’s first signature fundraising event, Big Blue Table.
‘Big Blue Table brings together two of my favorite things – cooking for friends and family, sharing meals and chatting at the table!’
‘Along with the mental health benefits of getting together for a meal, all funds raised in Big Blue Table will go to Beyond Blue 24/7 Support Service.’

In July, Julie was dropped from Fans VS Faves in a shocking elimination.
The 51-year-old returning winner was sent home after her caramel pudding, ice cream and whiskey failed an elimination challenge in Tasmania.
She was soon dubbed a ‘national treasure’ by fans after first winning the show in 2009.

Julie shared about her battle with anxiety and depression after being arrested for drunk driving four years ago.
‘[My mental health] was a big discussion when I was asked to do [MasterChef]’ the cookbook author explains.
‘I didn’t just say yes. I talked to my family, talked to my psychiatrist, and it was a decision made very thoughtfully because at the end of the day, I don’t want to go back to the bottom of a dark place,’ she continued.
The mother-of-three, who spent five weeks in a mental health facility in 2020, outlined a coping strategy in case things get too heavy mentally.
‘They worked around the filming schedule to allow me to still have my psychology appointments and get out early in the morning to exercise. They were constantly touching the premises with me to make sure I was okay,’ she said.
