A German documentary about Meghan and Harry is due out next week

On December 3, the German network ZDF will broadcast a new documentary About Prince Harry And Meghan Markle, aims to give audiences a closer look at the couple’s life in Montecito, an exclusive enclave in Santa Barbara. The filmmakers visited the town and interviewed at least one of the duke and duchess’s neighbors.

Documentary film Prince Harry—The Lost Prince, will look to find the right fit for the couple after they stepped down from their royal roles in early 2020 and their subsequent move to the United States. “Even when he lived in self-imposed exile in Montecito, California, he remained a public figure. His commitment to charitable organizations—e.g Invictus Games for veterans that he founded – always brought him into the spotlight. But the second child of King Charleswho was once the most famous royal of the Windsors, is now a controversial figure,” the network said in a press release. “The paparazzi and tabloid press are a thorn in his side.” (ZDF representatives did not immediately respond to VF’s request for comment.)

In an interview with Show, manager Ulrike Grunewald said making the documentary helped her understand why the royals were so worried about Meghan and Harry stepping away from their royal roles. “The most damaging accusations can only come from within. Shocking revelations for the royal family only come out of the mouths of Prince Harry or Meghan Markle,” she said. “I started to understand judgment of the late Queen that you can’t be ‘half in, half out'”.

Grunewald added that for now Meghan and Harry are still trying to establish their legacy. “It’s hard to see any of their great achievements right now Archewell Foundationclaim to work for the betterment of the community,” she said. “But there are still voices who see the couple’s great potential not only for the British monarchy but also for a free society.”

In April, Montecito resident and former British journalist Richard Minards said he sat down for an interview with Grunewald and her producers during a trip to southern California. “Los Angeles-based manufacturer, Melanie Hillmann tortured me for two hours with my Riven Rock neighbors, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, under the direction of director Ulrike Grunewald,” he wrote in Montecito Magazine. “The interview will be broadcast in due course as part of a primetime documentary on ZDF Royal.”
