A Cuomo return? Blame Hollywood’s Mega MeToo Failure

It seems like just yesterday that New York Governor Andrew Cuomo resigned in disgrace.

It was August 24, 2021 to be exact, but the Democrat planted the seeds of his comeback.

Cuomo, hailed as a hero by the press and Hollywood during the first year of the pandemic, has seen his political life fall apart following a series of scandals:

That was part of his list of violations.

The sexual assault allegations, bolstered by a damning IG report, forced him out of his post. However, to hear the friendly response he received over the weekend during a church address, it sounds like he’s ripe for a comeback.

He even has a forward attack plan – blame Cancel Culture for his downfall.

In his speech, which led those gathered at the church to verbally affirm, Cuomo kept talking about “cancellation”, using the word “cancellation” no less than 25 times.

So what is the connection between Hollywood? It’s simple.

Producer Harvey Weinstein fell for grace in 2017 directly led to the MeToo movement. Hollywood was naturally involved in the cause, given Weinstein’s connections to Tinsel Town and a number of shocking stars who were suddenly disqualified for their alleged appalling behaviour. Think:

  • Dustin Hoffman
  • Kevin Spacey
  • Director Brett Rather
  • Louis CK

Hollywood stars like Meryl Streep, Ashley Judd and others have used their podiums to cry, and who could disagree? Some stars have also cut major spending for the new Time’s Up organization, a group dedicated to helping women fight their alleged attackers.

Movement quickly boiled over for President Donald Trump, who himself has been accused of inappropriate behavior by some women. Women’s March has become an annual event, first targeting Trump and then, Brett Kavanaugh following Christine Blasey Ford’s absurd charges against future Supreme Court justice.

However, a clear pattern began to emerge, one that undermined the moral influence of the movement. Celebrities fell silent when a Democrat was accused of sexual misconduct.

  • Virginia Governor Justin Fairfax
  • Future President Joe Biden
  • Governor Cuomo

In fact, many stars have hailed Cuomo as a pandemic star, with the term “Cuomosexual” anointed with his celebrity advocates.

Late night shows and fading SiriusXM star Howard Stern took Cuomo for months before the news cycle turned to Democrats.

Chelsea Handler, who pursue a date with Cuomolater admitted she no longer qualified as a “Cuomosexual” after the fact took place.

And that’s it. There is no march. Not indignant. There is no social media campaign asking Cuomo to never serve the public again from Hollywood’s brightest stars. Amy Schumer, who willingly arrested for protesting Kavanaughdid little, or nothing, publicly against Cuomo.

Just a shrug of their assimilated celebrities.

However, Time’s Up’s official reaction was much worse.

Its leaders have actively worked with Cuomo to combat his accusers. Ultimately, the group faced a major reorganization after the news spread.

So now we are facing a possible second coming to Cuomo. Voters will, of course, decide whether they are willing to forgive or forget. It is likely that the very media that covered up or ignored his misconduct will do so again or assume that he has been paid for his political sins.

These same reporters howled when “Cancelled” celebrities like Morgan Wallen reappear a year after their own problems surfaced, the merciless actions did not affect the fraction of the people that Cuomo’s misconduct did.

Cuomo 2.0 wouldn’t have been possible without Hollywood’s inability to hold him accountable.

The press will be forced to cover the starlet after the starlet criticized Cuomo for his alleged behavior with his female colleagues, showing we don’t need a Cuomo revival. They could capitalize on their awards-season speeches against the disgraced governor, reminding the nation why he shouldn’t be pardoned.

After all, he hasn’t even apologized or admitted any wrongdoing, the first step to repentance.

Cuomo’s political future may be brighter than many think, and he could be sending a bouquet of flowers to Hollywood activists for such a possibility.
