Wisconsin Woman, Chrystul Kizer, is facing more than a decade in prison after allegedly surviving sexual abuse as a teenager. In May, Kizer pleaded guilty after admitting she killed Randall Volar III in 2018.
In her plea, the 24-year-old claimed Randall had been sexual harassment and trafficking her since she was 16 years old.
Here’s How Long Chrystul Kizer Will Be In Prison
According to Associated PressA Milwaukee judge sentenced Chrystul Kizer to 11 years in prison and five years of probation. on Monday. Judge David Wilk allowed The 750 days were counted as time served, reducing Kizer’s prison time to about a year and a half (nearly 10 years).
However, the 24-year-old is not eligible for any Department of Corrections early release programs. This means Chrystul Kizer is likely to be in prison until 2033.
“The court is well aware of your circumstances regarding your relationship with Mr Volar,” Judge Wilk said during sentencing, according to Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “You must not become his calculating instrument. Otherwise, you will accept the descent into lawlessness and chaos.”
The acceptance of the guilty plea in May allowed Chrystul avoided trial and could have been sentenced to life in prison, AP reported. She reportedly presented a written statement in court, According to the Journal Sentinel, in addition to apologizing to Volar’s family, she quoted from the Bible in her post. Her lawyer shared that she was baptized while in custody.
“I don’t know where to begin, but I am asking for your mercy in my sentencing today. I understand that I have committed crimes that have caused the Volar family much suffering,” Kizer’s written statement said.
Here’s What Happened Between Kizer and Randall Volar
As suggested above, Chrystul Kizer and Randall Volar III reportedly met through a sex trafficking website when she was 16 and he was 33. She posted an ad and Volar responded.
At the time, Valor was reportedly under investigation for sexual conduct with minors, specifically black girls as young as 12. In fact, he was arrested on related charges in February 2018 but was later released without bail. A few months later, in June 2018, Chrystul Kizer shot and killed him when he allegedly tried to touch her. Furthermore, the then 17-year-old set fire to the house and fled the scene in his BMW.
AP reported that Valor allegedly harassed Kizer for a year before his death. Additionally, the Journal Sentinel reported that Volar had bailed Kizer out of jail for a previous conviction and used this to traffic her to other men at a Milwaukee hotel.
Prosecutors involved in the case, however, have quashed that narrative. In court, District Attorney Michael Graveley cited a lack of election evidence to support Kizer’s claim that he was a “sex trafficking victim.” Instead, the DA said her social media videos and messages after the incident showed she killed Valor for fame and material gain.
Chrystul Kizer’s case sparked nationwide outcry, particularly from sex trafficking victims and organizations, when she was first arrested six years ago.
