Getty ImagesWrestling legend Hulk Hogan joked about wrestling Vice President Kamala Harris to the ground in front of an angry crowd, questioning her race.
In video obtained by TMZ, the 71-year-old is seen asking the booing crowd: “Do you want me to wrestle Kamala Harris to the ground?!”
“You want me to take Kamala down?!” he yelled, referencing one of his iconic wrestling moves.
The comments came during a promotional event for his new beer, and come amid calls for an end to violent political discourse following the assassination of Donald Trump nearly six weeks ago.
Hogan went on to make more comments about Ms Harris, including comments about her Indian heritage.
Kamala Harris is of mixed heritage – her mother is Indian and her father is Jamaican.
“Is Kamala a chameleon? Is she Indian?” Hogan asked the crowd before using an outdated and stereotypical greeting associated with Native Americans.
The video stops after he can be heard saying “he’s going to get criticized for that”.
“It’s not me, it’s the beer talking,” he added.
The BBC has contacted Hulk Hogan’s management for comment.
Trump recently attacked the vice president’s racial identity, falsely claiming that she had only emphasized her Asian-American heritage until recently when he declared “she became black.”
Last month, Hulk Hogan appeared at the Republican National Convention, where he gave a speech praising Trump.
He also ripped off a shirt to reveal a vest bearing the names Trump and his vice presidential running mate, JD Vance.
The former wrestler’s latest comments come as Democrats hold their convention this week in Chicago, where they will formally endorse Kamala Harris as the Democratic presidential nominee for November’s election.
