When Version 2.4 comes out Honkai: Star RailsHuohuo will run again in the banner next to the new character Van Le. While a new offensive character may seem appealing, I would strongly recommend that anyone who doesn’t have her and has enough firepower on their team consider getting Huohuo. Aside from her healing abilities, she’s great as a support and is a great Abundance character for high-level teams or late-game content.
First, as a healer, Huohuo is just okay. She doesn’t excel in a support role like Luocha And Aventurine Stone do, meaning she doesn’t EQUAL Good at keeping your characters alive. That sounds bad for an Abundance character. However, that’s because Huohuo’s real value lies in her ability to increase your team’s damage output through her numerous buffs and passive debuff cleansing ability. The main thing about Huohuo is that she works better in a well-constructed team. If you run her with characters you haven’t invested in, you’ll think she’s a lousy unit. So always run her with a team that won’t be crumpled like a paper bag before Huohuo can get to her turn.
To briefly summarize Huohuo’s skill set, her Skills can heal a character and remove debuffs. She can also heal nearby characters, although they take less HP. This gives you a bit more control over who she heals, as opposed to Bailu’s randomness. Her Skills also grant two stacks of Divine Provision. While she has these stacks, characters can heal themselves when their turn starts or when they use their Ultimate. They can also remove debuffs, meaning they can move even if they are hit by the Crowd Control debuff instead of having to wait until their next turn. Finally, her Ultimate can regenerate Energy and increase their ATK.
If you read all that and think, “Oh, she seems great [insert character here]”You’re probably right! Unlike characters like Bronya and Sparkle, you can use Huohuo with any party. This includes characters with more unique specialties like firefly (Interruption effect) and Kafka (MOT). Surname no need for Crit DMG. But everyone wants to increase ATK and Energy, and everyone likes a good purge or two. I’ve long confirm that if you are thinking about pulling in Honkai: Star Rails and you care about having a great party, you should pull for a limited 5 star support. Attackers are plentiful and you can get a good one with a reasonable investment. Yes, even if they are a “low tier” character like Qingque or Serval. However, without a good support character, even extremely powerful attackers like Acheron and Firefly can fail.
Huohuo’s main use lies in how useful she is in end-game content. For example, you can take her on harder difficulty levels of Simulated Universe, Pure Fiction, or Memory of Chaos. In modes like Pure Fiction, her ability to remove annoying Crowd Control debuffs that can cost a character a turn is invaluable when you want to complete a fight within the time limit. You can run her on almost any team as long as you run her with the characters you’ve built. She can also free up a slot on your team, as she can be both sustain and support. This means you don’t always need to run Harmony or Nihility on her.
Huohuo’s viability on a team will never change due to the universality of what she brings. But if we’re talking about the specific upcoming patch where Huohuo and Sparkle are both re-running, some people may need to decide who to support. That’s not even taking into account Van Le and Kieu Thu. While I can’t talk about them since we don’t know how they’ll work in the final build of the game, I Maybe provides a summary of Sparkle vs Huohuo.
In my opinion, it really depends on who else you like to use. Huohuo has a very general toolkit for any attacker, meaning you can use her with any party. Her ultimate really helps other characters in the party back up their Ultimate. Sparkle, on the other hand, provides increased DMG (points calculated differently than ATK), Crit DMG bonus, and more SP. No one can say no to more SP. So, considering their skill sets, Huohuo and Sparkle can benefit the entire party in different ways.
However, in my experience, while Sparkle is definitely a great support, not everyone can take full advantage of her abilities. In fact, I would say that Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae is the only one demand Sparkle’s positive SP economy (as of Version 2.3). This is because her enhanced Basic Attack costs 3 SP instead of the usual 1 SP. But people can still survive without her (though there are other premium options like Ruan Mei or, yes, Huohuo).
Huohuo can really speed things up thanks to her role as a battery, support, And healer. This makes her invaluable to any account. I highly recommend anyone who doesn’t have her to consider giving up their Stellar Jades and Special Passes for Huohuo. May she and Tail lead you to the stars.
