With each Freegunner in Concord, our team focuses on taking a holistic approach to development by working across all areas – from gameplay design to story, art, and more – to ensure that they are not only fun and engaging to play, but also feel like fully formed characters. From the core gameplay to the way they move and the acting of the cast, every detail feels like an extension of their personalities, backstories, and journeys through the Concord galaxy.
Over the weekend during the Open Beta and the Early Access Beta earlier this month, you were able to experience a small part of the game and each character for the first time.
As we head towards our August launch, we’re excited to continue expanding our launch roster of 16 playable Freegunners, including a limited animated series called Concord: Freegunner Adventures. The first episode launches today with Concord Freegunner Adventures: Crew First, which sees Teo, Jabali, and It-Z take on a high-risk mission and face off against a rival crew:
In the coming days and weeks, we’ll also be releasing new gameplay trailers for each Freegunner on the launch roster, giving you a closer look at their abilities and loadouts. Each Concord Freegunner Adventures episode and gameplay trailer will debut on PlayStation Official YouTube Channel.
Introducing the DualSense Wireless Controller – Concord Limited Edition
Additionally, we were thrilled to have the opportunity to partner with PlayStation to develop a special Concord-themed edition of the PlayStation 5 DualSense controller, featuring a custom design inspired by the vibrant and colorful universe of Concord. The design takes inspiration and graphic elements from our vision for faster-than-light travel and the Galactic Guide—a vast in-game map of the Concord galaxy and its worlds, which expands and unlocks new narrative content as you play and progress.
The DualSense Wireless Controller – Concord Limited Edition will be available for pre-order to players in the United States on Thursday, July 25 at 7 a.m. PT / 10 a.m. ET on direct.playstation.com. It will be available in limited quantities in the United States for just $84.99 and will launch on August 23, the same day as the Concord release.*
