Kodak Black shares ‘Super Gremlin’ lyrics he regrets
Black Kodak is doubling down on his sobriety efforts! The Florida rapper recently got candid with fans about the lyrics to his hit song ‘Super Gremlin’ that he no longer supports.
To better understand, ‘Super Gremlin’ reached third place on Billboard’s Hot 100 in April 2022. A few months ago, in January, the song affirmed number one on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs chart. According to reports, this song has been certified platinum, according to HipHopDX.
Now, more than two years later, he has condemned his reference to Percocet use in the three-minute track. The lyrics go like this: “I know the Perc is fake but I still eat it / ‘Cause I’m a gremlin.”
Here’s What Kodak Black Says About ‘Super Gremlin’
In a video shared by X (formerly Twitter) account @omgmediaarchive, Kodak spoke directly to his audience about his change of heart. He admitted that he had second thoughts when he first wrote the lyrics but went ahead anyway.
“But it’s sad, man, because I’m like, ‘That shit’s gonna land in my head so fast,'” Black shared on the mic. “I was like, ‘Fuck, I don’t want to say this shit, but I know this bitch will, man.’ A nigga don’t play like that, man.”
He continued, admitting that on his drug days he averaged “about 40 Percs a day” and sometimes as much as 100. “If I had played with that fake thing, I’d be dead, man,” he added.
“Now I’m explaining myself, I don’t want you all to hear that and think it’s normal to do that, you hear me? No,” he said at the end of the clip.

The Rapper’s Past Comments About His Drug Use
Kodak Black talk about his previous use of Percocet in April via social media. At the time, he revealed that he had never felt “happier” after significantly reducing his medication intake. While he admits he hasn’t been against Perc, he says his low dosage was a surprise to himself.
Kodak Black isn’t the only celebrity to recently transition to a drug-free lifestyle. Earlier this month, Quando Rondo spoke out about spending the past 8 months of drug addiction treatment.
