Developer V Rising dives deep into boss encounters, coming to PS5 June 11 – PlayStation.Blog
In V Rising, you play as a Vampire who has just awakened from their dusty grave and your powers have long since been depleted. It’s time to take it back, and what more does that mean than a bloody adventure to drink your fill and retrace your steps again like night terrors.
Enter Blood V. These people, monsters, beasts, and supernatural wonders are all descendants of powerful blood. This magically enhanced blood proves a powerful source of advancement for Vampires, masters of hematology, to tap into to acquire skills, knowledge, and even magical secrets to learn spells and abilities.
These boss level encounters are numerous but worth noting. In this blog, we will give you some examples of what you will face and for the evil strategists among you, we will give you some tips for you to take advantage of.
Willfred Elder of the village
Willfred is the chief of a small, remote village whose reclusive people are hiding a terrible secret. Visiting this place during the day, you may notice strange details, such as scratched surfaces and empty cages. Only when you return in time will you discover the dark, twisted nature of this place and face a blood hunger that could rival your own.
The village chief is the leader of the pack and the fiercest hunter you will ever meet among your fellow werewolves. He will relentlessly chase you with fierce claw and bite attacks. Carrying some defensive countermeasures in your spell kit will help a lot, and you should be especially careful to keep your dash ability from slipping away only at the most crucial moments. Towards the end of the fight, imprisoned villagers will break out of their cages and attempt to escape. Willfred will turn his attention and fall into a state of crazed appetite. You should get to them before they do because you won’t like what happens after they feed.
Engineer Ziva
Deep within Gloomrot, a Gothic hellscape filled with toxic waste and mutations born of humanity’s pursuit of higher evolution, you can find Ziva the Engineer. She is the crazy chief engineer of weapons development for the tech-savvy faction, Trancendum. When facing her, it’s important to learn the attacks of her three weapons, an experimental arsenal that demands respect if you don’t want to end up invulnerable any time soon.
She frequently swaps between her weapons in battle, changing her moves as she goes. When she grabs the Electro Zapper, you’ll need to stand on your toes and keep moving. Her flamethrower is a deadly countermeasure as scary as the sun, so you’ll want to keep your distance when she equips this flamethrower. Eventually, her Gatling gun will fill the battlefield with bullets and you’ll need to find some shelter to survive the onslaught.
Raziel the shepherd
The Church of the Light is the dominant power in Vardoran, and their adherence to and worship of the Light is deeply ingrained in human history. It was the Light that took down Dracula and sent the Vampires into hiding centuries ago and is the challenge you must overcome if you have any hope of rising to greatness.
Raziel’s monastery is filled with divine energy, burning any unprepared Vampire who sets foot on sacred ground. Brewing a mixture to create temporary resistance against the divine power will help protect you from the natural energy in the area, but also provide some protection against his abilities.
Be prepared for a barrage of divine magic from this caster-type enemy, as he’ll rain down bullets, area attacks, and constant beams of light that you’ll need to avoid to survive the encounter. The beacons of divine light that he will summon will make this more difficult, making it more difficult to move unhindered. Destroy these beacons to free up space for you to safely dodge!
Winged horror Talzur
This is one of the late-game bosses of V Rising and is most likely a necessary step for you to have enough strength to face Dracula. A terrible monster and one of Dracula’s favorite pets, it was horribly disfigured and empowered by the Undying King’s favor.
The Winged Horror’s massive size makes melee combat with it a dangerous proposition. However, Talzur is no simple monster. It summons cold frost to trap victims and spews chaotic flames to those unlucky enough to escape in time. Parts of the battlefield will constantly be on fire, so you’ll have to tread carefully and save your abilities to avoid being pushed back into one of the fiery pits.
This is one of the longer battles in the game, a fierce battle where any mistake can leave you tormented by just one slip. Be careful of the winged terror.
V Rising will be released on June 11 for PlayStation 5. Pre-order a bundle to get 5 days early access.
