Civil lawsuits are pending against Sean ‘Diddy’ Comb could soon escalate into a criminal matter. CNN reports that a grand jury may soon hear testimony from some of his alleged victims of sexual misconduct.

The context behind this possibility of the Grand Jury possibly targeting Diddy
Two sources told CNN that federal investigators are preparing to have the alleged victims testify before a federal grand jury. The newspaper claims this means the US Department of Justice may be seeking an indictment against Sean Combs.
This is the second time in less than a month that the newspaper has released a shocking update regarding Diddy. On May 17, CNN shocked the world when it posted Surveillance footage from 2016 about the controversial music mogul beating his ex-girlfriend Casandra “Cassie” Ventura. The incident occurred on March 5, 2016, in the lobby of a now-closed hotel in Los Angeles.
Note that Diddy apologized for the surveillance filming incident. Over the past six months, he also repeatedly crashed and denies the accusations with the increasing number of lawsuits.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office released a statement There is no intention to prosecute for Cassie’s recorded attack. Why? Too much time has passed which means the crime has passed the statute of limitations. Additionally, at the time of the statement, the LAPD had no new cases or charges to pursue.
For context, surveillance footage corroborated at least one incident that Cassie described in her book. The lawsuit has now been resolved against Comb. She had sue him for sexual assault, abuse and sex trafficking in November.
Following Cassie’s lawsuit, seven additional lawsuits were filed against the producer for similar reasons. That includes two cases filed the week after Cassie’s abuse video. Six of those lawsuits directly accuse Diddy of sexual assault and misconduct, according to CNN.
What happens next?
According to CNN, a spokesperson for Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) declined to confirm the grand jury’s itinerary. However, the spokesperson said the investigation into the manufacturer is still ongoing.
Remember, this is the same agency that conducted raids on Diddy’s homes in Miami and Los Angeles in March.

According to the grand jury, CNN stated that investigators have notified potential witnesses according to their sources. It’s unclear if Cassie was on their list, but several plaintiffs in the civil lawsuits were said to have been interviewed.
However, possible witnesses are not yet ready to testify, due to HSI’s ongoing investigation, including the collection of specific evidence.
After an apology for the surveillance footage that emerged, Diddy’s attorney, Jonathan Davis, told Rolling Stone that the producer denies the allegations listed in seven unresolved lawsuits against him.
“Mr. Combs cannot comment on resolved litigation, will not comment on pending litigation, and cannot address any allegations gathered by the press from any source, whether no matter how reliable,” Davis said in a statement. “We know that authorities are conducting a thorough investigation and are therefore confident that all significant issues will be resolved within proper forum where the rules distinguish fact from fiction.”
Diddy has not publicly reacted to the grand jury news.
