Ekster’s fashion wallet is pocket-sized perfection
If you are worried about losing your wallet, you can get one tracking card for an additional $49. I chose to give Android versionworks with the Chipolo network to display your wallet’s last known location on a map. There’s also an iOS version that works with Apple’s Find My network. Like all best followersBoth versions let you call your wallet from your phone, which is ideal when you have to catch a train and your wallet slides down the middle of the seat cushion. You can even set abandoned alerts so you get notified if your wallet is out of range of your phone.
Battery life is up to six months for the iOS tracker and about three months for the Android version. You can plug the iOS model in to recharge, but the Android tracker has a small solar panel to keep it topped up. They’re as thick as a few cards and fit snugly into the pocket on the back. I have never lost my wallet.
More minimalist
While the Ekster Parliament is my favorite model, I tested several other Ekster models. The Cardholder and Cardholder Pro ditch the outer skin for a sleeker look and come in some fun colors and patterns like hammered magma and carbon fiber. They retain the trigger and other features and are perfect if you want to travel as light as possible. I gave a couple as gifts, and my oldest uses the Ekster Cardholder and loves it.
Space is limited when you choose a minimalist wallet like this, with no room for coins and only limited space for bills. But there are optional add-ons. Modular additional features include a multi-tool card ($49)One money clip backplate ($29)and one coin tray ($29). The coin tray is quite handy and can also hold keys, but you won’t want to add too many extras or your wallet will be bulky.
Finally, the Ekster Parliament has been in my pocket for several years and it still works perfectly. I never miss my fat old wallet and I still love pulling the trigger every time I grab my card. The tracker has also been a lifesaver a few times, reassuring me that I left my wallet in another jacket and wasn’t out somewhere. It’s a bit pricey, but it might be the last wallet you ever need to buy.
