The publisher of Shenmue III recently asked if you’d like to see the game on Switch
ININ Games announced last week that it has officially acquired the publishing rights ARRIVE Shenmue IIIthe long-awaited third entry in the hit Dreamcast series. Of course, here at Nintendo Life, that got us thinking about the future of the series – especially since none of the games have appeared on Switch yet. And now ININ Games has shared a social network surveyasked fans to answer “some questions about Shenmue III”.
While surveying, you can be accessed right hereasking questions like “What is your favorite moment from the entire Shenmue series?” and “What graphics and performance improvements would you like to see for Shenmue III?”, there is one huge one thing that caught our attention:
“Which platform do you want to see Shenmue III on?”. And Switch is the answer, along with Xbox Series, PS5 and Mac. The game is currently only available on PS4 and Windows, but you know what to do, guys.
“Please consider filling in if you’re a fan of Ryo’s antics or just familiar with the game.” ININ Games posted on X, “Your feedback will be invaluable to us, as always!”
This survey is obviously just a survey but it’s clear that ININ Games is looking to do something with Shenmue. Sadly, the publisher doesn’t have the rights to the first two games (those are owned by Sega), and we’d love to see the entire series on Switch (or a successor), so We will see.
Shenmue III continues the story of Ryo Hazuki directly from the end Shenmue IIdespite the nearly 20-year release gap between the games. Ryo is still out looking for revenge on his father’s killer while uncovering the secrets of the Phoenix Mirror. Third game yes Reviews were quite mixed back when it came out, but it’s completely faithful to the original duo.
