Some “Hidden” Splatoon 2 tracks have been removed from Nintendo Music
A wave Splatoon 2 The song landed on Nintendo Music this week and we’ve been soaking up the sounds of Splatfest in the days since. However, it seems update contains more tracks than Nintendo intended, as some of them were removed.
Five songs have been cut this time – ‘A brighter future awaits! (Grizzco Recruitment Video)’, ‘January 2017 Trailer’, ‘Bonus Track (After Octo)’, ‘Splatocalypse (Last Splatfest Trailer)’ and ‘Inkopolis Memorial Mix’ – all all follow OatmealDome ABOVE blue skywas previously released exclusively on a Japanese soundtrack CD.
While they’re still messing around, these “hidden” tracks can only be accessed in the Nintendo Music app via search instead of the usual ‘All Tracks’ playlist.
The removal was accompanied by the following notification from Nintendo in the app’s ‘Notifications’ tab:
Change settings for some tracks.
Thank you for using the Nintendo Music app.
There are some tracks in “Splatoon 2” that are not scheduled for release and can only be played when they are searched for.
We have made those tracks unavailable. Thank you for your understanding.
Oddly, it looks like you’ve saved any “hidden” tracks to one of your personal playlists And Once you’ve downloaded them, you can still access them. We think this is more of a bug than a hidden flaw, so enjoy them before Nintendo catches up, we guess!
At the time of writing, it’s unclear whether these mysterious tracks will return, although the specific wording is “no.” according to schedule released” above makes us think we might see them again at some point in the future. Hey, it’s Nintendo, who knows!
