Final Fantasy XIV mobile port brings FFXIV to phones


Back in August 2024, we saw Final Fantasy XIV Mobile appears in the list China National Press and Publication Administration approved games and now Square Enix, Lightspeed Studios and Tencent announced a mobile version of FFXIV. Playtests will appear first in China, then worldwide. Pre-registration for this version is now available at official website.

In the initial announcement, Final Fantasy XIV Mobile described as “adaptation” of FFXIVwith elements from the MMORPG retained. The announcement video confirmed that Disciples of War includes traditional jobs and that the Disciples of the Land and Hand roles will both be present. In addition to typical adventures and raids, mini-games such as Gold Saucer’s chocobo race and the Triple Triad will appear. The announcement also confirmed Scions of the Seventh Dawn characters will be present as usual, with Tataru Taru and Thancred Waters both specifically cited.

There is no timeline for when this version of the game will appear as a beta or full version. We know the competitions in China will be held first. There will then be a worldwide launch after that.

Final Fantasy XIV available on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X and PC, and FFXIV Mobile being developed for Android and Apple iOS devices.
