Amazon job scam: Imagine you accidentally receive an attractive remote job offer above Instagrama company that promises a lucrative salary from a famous company like Amazon. Naturally, such an opportunity will appeal to most people, thanks to Amazon’s excellent reputation and the allure of earning big money. However, instead of making money, many individuals fall victim to cleverly orchestrated scams designed to rob them of their savings. This is exactly what happened to a 25-year-old woman from Udupi, Karnataka, who passed away. $1.94 lakhs while pursuing what she thought was a genuine part-time job offer.

Amazon jobs scam: How it happens
According to Times Now, a woman named Archana was looking for a part-time job on Instagram when she came across an ad offering jobs for Amazon. Curious, she clicked on the ad and it redirected her to one WhatsApp chat.
The scammers, posing as recruiters, made her an attractive offer: invest small amounts for high profits. Convinced by the promise of substantial earnings, she transferred the total $1.94 lakh to various unknown UPI IDs between October 18 and 24. Archana then realized she had been cheated when the promised return never arrived. After that, she filed a complaint with the authorities.
How scammers work
This type of scam is not new. Fraudsters often lure unsuspecting victims with promises of unrealistically high profits. In some cases, they may even pay a small amount initially to build trust, only to strike when the victim invests a larger amount.

- Avoid clicking on unverified links: Never click on random links sent by unknown people.
- Trust your instincts: If an offer seems too good to be true or promises easy money, it usually is.
