Sekai, a celebrity hotspot in Houston, Texas, has come under fire from some employees. Workers claim they have not been paid club for many months.
Some people believe that club owners only pay salaries to certain employees. Meanwhile, others claim they are waiting for salaries worth thousands of dollars.
Was it all just a misunderstanding? Or is there something deeper going on?

According to Carter, everyone from Kevin Hart to Yung Miami and sexyy Red have appeared at Sekai. Furthermore, the club is said to have an indoor pool, bikini-clad bartenders, and high spenders. Despite the glamor, in August 2024, some employees alleged they stopped receiving payments and tips for their services.
According to staff, the club received new owners at the end of summer 2023.
“Things are just starting to happen,” Amber Johnson, a bartender at Sekai, called Carter back. “…Every week we are told that payday will be next week…or they are just cold, just ignore you.”
Additionally, Johnson even informed Carter that “some [employees] was paid in full while others were not.”
The owner spoke up
According to Johnson, she believes Sekai’s new owner is showing favoritism, or a quid pro quo attitude, toward some employees. Additionally, former employee Jakaya Jones told Carter that the club’s accounting system was not up to par.
