Kamala Harris asks Americans: Are you really going to elect someone who has good things to say about Hitler?

13 days left to go election, Kamala Harris presented in the clearest possible terms the choice Americans face when they get to the ballot box in less than two weeks: They can vote to elect a man who thinks Adolph Hilter is someone worth following, or they can vote for a woman who has never said a good thing about a genocidal maniac.

Speaking outside the Naval Observatory on Wednesday, Harris responded new story from Atlantic detail Donald Trumpinfatuation with dictators, negative things he is said to have said about members of the armed forces, and positive comments he is said to have made about people such as Hitler, all of which he of course denied.

“Yesterday, we learned about Donald Trump’s former chief of staff John Kelly, a retired four-star general, confirmed that when Donald Trump was president, he said he wanted generals like Adolf Hitler had,” Harris speak reporter. “Donald Trump said that because he doesn’t want a military that is loyal to the US Constitution. He wanted an army that was loyal to him. He wanted an army that was personally loyal to him, an army that would obey his orders even if he asked them to break the law or abandon their oath to the United States Constitution. Just in the past week, Donald Trump has repeatedly called his fellow Americans ‘enemies within’ and even said he would use the US military to go after American citizens.”

She continued: “And let’s make it clear who he considers his enemy from within. In his mind, anyone who refuses to kneel or dares to criticize him is considered an enemy within, like a judge, like a journalist, like a nonpartisan election official. What is extremely worrying and extremely dangerous is that Donald Trump will summon Adolf Hitler, the man responsible for the deaths of 6 million Jews and hundreds of thousands of Americans. All of this is further proof to the American people of who Donald Trump really is. This is a window into who Donald Trump really is from those who know him best, from those who worked alongside him in the Oval Office and in the Situation Room.”

Harris added that Kelly does speak Trump meets the definition of a fascist and would rule like a fascist if given the chance. The vice president ended his speech by telling voters: “Donald Trump is increasingly destabilized and unstable. And in a second term, people like John Kelly won’t be there to act as barriers against his tendencies and actions. Those who once tried to dissuade him from pursuing his worst impulses are no longer there and are no longer there to restrain him.

“So, the bottom line is this. We know what Donald Trump wants. He wants unchecked power. The question over the next 13 days will be: What do the American people want?”
