Metal Slug Tactics will launch next month
After much waiting, today publisher Dotemu and developer Leikir Studio announced that Metal slug tactics will explode on On November 5.
First revealed at E3 (yes, that long ago) in 2021, Metal Slug’s tactical handling has seen a number of changes delay for the past three years, but we were happy to hear that we would be departing with Marco and co. in just a few weeks’ time.
Alongside revealing the release date, Dotemu also shared a brand new trailer, introducing a trio of additional playable characters. The new footage (above) gives us our first look at Clark Still, Ralf Jones and Leona Heidern, who you can learn a little more about below:
Clark Still: Originally hailed from the Ikari Warriors series and was previously playable in Metal slug 6Clark’s immense strength and wrestling experience allow this tank-like ally to move enemies across the map and deal widespread, status-inducing damage.
Ralf Jones: Also returns for battle from the Ikari Warriors series and Metal slug 6Ralf is a master of short-range combat, possessing devastating punches and the ability to charge at enemies like a raging bull.
Leona Heidern: A newer addition to the Ikari Warriors, Leona is a respected warrior capable of replacing fallen enemies with decoy allies; She can distract and overwhelm enemy forces with her distinct approach to dominating the battle area.
But that’s not all! Dotemu also announced that the game and its soundtrack written by Tee Lopes will be physically released at a later date, so give it some space guys.
Back in September, Leikir Studio revealed one dive deep takes a look at the game’s evolution, showcasing some stunning pixel graphics and how the run-and-gun series has moved into the tactical realm. We’re excited to see it in action next month.
