However, at more general tasks, Yoga fails. My scores on the PCMark 10 benchmark weren’t noticeably different from the first-gen Core Ultra scores, and performance on the industry-standard Geekbench 6 test was surprisingly low – 40% lower than the desktop. The portable runs the regular Snapdragon , but power users who have 100 browser tabs open at once may start to feel a bit annoyed. On the plus side, since this is Intel silicon on x86 architecture, the system doesn’t have any of the application compatibility issues that Snapdragon machines have on ARM architecture.
In any case, while it’s impossible to draw general conclusions about CPU performance based on a laptop, it’s at least a starting point.

The rest of the laptop delivers a solid albeit not entirely remarkable experience. The screen isn’t particularly bright in comparison Competitive laptopsbut it still looks good under normal viewing conditions. The keyboard and gently concave keys provide a fast and responsive typing experience. The touchpad is responsive and four speakers (with Dolby Atmos support) deliver great sound. Note that fans tend to operate quickly under load and can be quite loud.
Battery life deserves its own conversation: With just over 12 hours of runtime on the full-screen YouTube playback test, the Yoga put most other Intel-powered machines to shame. However, laptops equipped with the new Snapdragon chip are still beaten by Intel on this front. Fifteen hours is the common benchmark for Snapdragon X Elite systems, and a Snapdragon X Plus system even achieved a runtime of 19 hours in my testing. Apple silicon There’s nothing to fear from Intel in terms of battery yet.
At $1,300, the Yoga Slim 9i isn’t a budget system, but it’s well-priced thanks to its performance, design, and overall usability. The jury is still out on whether Lunar Lake is the game changer that beleaguered Intel wants, but at least it’s a step in the right direction.
