According to United States todaySulaiman has been charged with “special circumstances” felony murder along with a probation violation. According to the newspaper, the 38-year-old man has a history of “violent felonies.”
Additionally, the Department of Children and Families reportedly “interacted” with the six-year-old boy, his younger brother and the child’s mother two months before the child’s death.
United States today reports that the 38-year-old man remains in jail without bail. Furthermore, the newspaper reported that he is expected to be arraigned on October 10.

According to the source, Sulaiman allegedly attacked his family at their apartment in Bridgeport on September 25. Police reportedly responded to a domestic violence call at 10 a.m.
“Please help us,” the children’s mother shouted to dispatchers. “He’s hitting us with a stick!”
Surveillance footage then allegedly captured Sulaiman jumping out of the window “before swinging the bat around.” Police then allegedly entered the apartment to find the mother, the 6-year-old child, and the 4-year-old child “who were suffering life-threatening injuries from… blunt force trauma.”
The mother and her 4-year-old child are said to be stable at the hospital. Meanwhile, Jathan Escobar is still in critical condition. It is known that the child passed away after a week of treatment.
NBC Connecticut reports that before the child died, he was on life support. The newspaper added that the mother told authorities that Sulaiman was believed to have been vacuuming angel dust before the attack. Additionally, she accused him of being abusive in the past.
