The best Atlus JRPGs from 2020 onwards
Atlus is one of the leading publishers and developers of Japanese role-playing games. From 2020 onwards, Atlus is going all out when it comes to releasing JRPGs in personality And Shin Megami Tensei series and more. When it comes to the best recent Atlus JRPGs from 2020 onwards, these are the ones that excel in terms of visuals, gameplay, and content.
Best recent Atlus JRPGs: Royal Persona 5
Royal Persona 5 is the pinnacle of not just an Atlus game but JRPGs in general. The Phantom Thieves saga is filled with some of the most stylish and satisfying turn-based gameplay of all time. It also has an excellent cast of characters, which rewards players who take the time to get to know them. Plus, it has incredible value with over 100 hours of content.
Reload Persona 3
This version is a remake of the original character 3 It’s not perfect but at least it makes the game worthwhile for newer players. The stunning visuals give previous Atlus games a run for their money, while the story remains simply the best in the series. It has some pacing and repetition issues with the main Tartarus dungeon, but this is one of the best ways to play it.
Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance
Original SMT V is one of my personal least favorite Atlus JRPGs, but this complete edition sold me on it. Updated visuals and performance with newer platforms should alleviate the frustrations of this open-world-like experience. It’s much smoother and includes a new storyline that’s more character-driven and much better than the original storyline that came with it.
Etrian Odyssey Origins Collection
I’m not entirely sure why this game is so expensive, but you get the first three games. Etrian Odyssey Adventure in one package. These games are some of the strongest first-person dungeon exploration games in existence. The level of polish is very high, plus party customization adds a lot of depth. It lacks some features from some 3DS remakes but is still worth picking up.
The unicorn lord
This is amazing Vanilla title like an active tactical RPG. The pace and style of the battles in The unicorn lord it takes a little getting used to, but it works well when clicking. The art style is classic sublime Vanillaware, while the story is actually quite good. If you want something a little different from the usual turn-based games in recent best Atlus JRPG lists then this is the game to pick up.
