A bomb, probably dropped during World War II, exploded at an airport, about a minute after a passenger plane flew over the site.
No one was injured at Miyazaki airport, in southwestern Japan, but dozens of flights were canceled before normal service resumed.
It is believed that this is an American bomb that has been hidden for decades.
