WhatsApp users will soon get filters in the app’s built-in camera, here’s what we know
WhatsApp is the most used messaging platform globally, and even though the Meta-owned app is not a photo-sharing platform, millions of users still send images on it every day. Over time, WhatsApp has made sharing photos easy and fun. Continuing on that path, the app is now planning to bring filters to its built-in camera. This means users will be able to add filters to photos and videos they directly shoot using the app. The new filters have been spotted by WABetaInfo in the latest WhatsApp beta update for Android users.

WhatsApp makes the in-app camera more interesting
As per a report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp’s camera will soon have filters that include options to smooth skin, change background, adjust lighting, etc. The company has already introduced these filters for phone calls video a few months ago. According to screenshots shared with the report, users will be able to see a new filter button in the camera interface once the feature is rolled out.
The new button will allow users to apply filters to enhance their photos and videos with just a tap. Until now, these filters were only available during video calls. The new button will allow users to quickly cycle through various filters, allowing for real-time adjustments before taking photos and videos.

As mentioned earlier, the new filters are still in beta and it may take some time for users to get them.
Android users get this existing iOS feature
In beta version 2.24.20.19, the company added the option to mark all chats as read. The feature has been available on the iOS client for some time, allowing users to clear unread notifications alongside chats they haven’t opened.
