The Nintendo Museum looks great but it’s in Japan and not everyone can get there. So, is Nintendo likely to open more museums outside of its home country?

Well, as you can see from the title, according to Miyamoto that’s not going to happen. In a Recent Game Watch InterviewThe Nintendo legend mentioned that the company has “no intention” of expanding the museum to other locations.

He went on to note that this is not a “business project” but rather about educating employees and the general public about everything Nintendo-related:

Shigeru Miyamoto: “This project was not created as a business project, but to help Nintendo employees better understand Nintendo and help the public learn more about Nintendo. Therefore, we do not intend to expand this project to other locations.

He went on to mention that the only thing being considered is how to further develop the newly opened museum in Japan, so that it can “keep up with Nintendo’s development” in the future.

So if you want to see the history of Nintendo, it looks like you’ll have to make a trip to Japan. And if you do make the trip, keep an eye out for some really cool items:
