Video of the Shaking Balcony at the Gunna Show

On Tuesday (May 7), the venue reportedly responded to widespread concerns about the safety of its structures.

Gunna shared the viral clip on her Instagram page on May 6 after Monday night’s show. Detroit has second stop on tour around America – his first tour since being was released from prison in 2022.
The clip switches between Gunna performing ‘f*kumean’ on stage and the balcony inside the theater. The balcony visibly shook as fans came to watch the song.

Here’s how Fox Theater responded
Based on Detroit News, the theater building is nearly 100 years old. However, the venue’s representative confirmed that swaying balconies are normal.
The company statement said, “The type of movement seen at the recent Fox Theater concert is common and expected on freestanding balcony structures to support audience members actively dancing, as demonstrated in last night’s concert .”
Additionally, the Fox Theater in Detroit said its venue was recently inspected and cleared for audiences in April.
“This capability is an integral part of the balcony’s structural engineering design. Regular inspections, most recently conducted in April, have been completed to ensure structural integrity and safety.”
This location has undergone many restorations since opening in September 1928, according to historic Detroit.
Social media is everywhere with reactions
Gunna has not made any other comments about the shaky balcony on his show, other than the caption on the video post. All it said was “Eyuhh” with a nervous emoji and a hashtag of his tour name and Detroit.
Meanwhile, on X (formerly Twitter) and under The Shade Room’s repost, some people couldn’t believe their eyes, while others claimed that the balcony was designed to withstand shaking .
