Helicopter rescue after floods hit Italian town
Witnesses have described “unimaginable” scenes of massive flooding in northern Italy as Storm Boris continued its journey across Europe on Thursday.
People were seen climbing onto rooftops to escape water as buildings collapsed in Traversara di Bagnacavallo.
Italian rescuers carried out a helicopter rescue after 36 hours of rain, according to a witness.
Storm Boris had earlier swept through Poland, the Czech Republic, Romania and Austria, killing at least 23 people.
