Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl gives birth to child “outside” of 21-year marriage
Dave Grohl is a dad again. The 55-year-old Foo Fighters frontman took to Instagram to announce that he has welcomed a new baby girl—surprisingly, she’s not from his 21-year marriage to Who is Jordyn Blum?
“I have just become the father of a newborn baby girl, my illegitimate child,” Grohl wrote in his statement,“I intend to be a loving and supportive father to her. I love my wife and children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and gain their forgiveness. We are grateful for your concern for all the children involved, as we move forward together.”
Grohl has been married to Blum since 2003. They have three daughters: Violet, 18; Harper, 15; and Ophelia, 10. The family appears together on the Grammy red carpet in 2023, days after Grohl accepted a lifetime achievement award on behalf of Nirvana from the Recording Academy. at the Special Merit Award.
Grohl was the drummer for the 1990s rock band Nirvana, then formed the Foo Fighters in 1994 as lead singer and guitarist; the group currently consists of guitarists Chris Shiflett, bass player Nate Mendel, keyboard player Rami Jaffee, Guitarist Pat Smear, and drummer Who is Josh Freese? (Grohl’s best friend and former Foo Fighters drummer, Taylor Hawkins, died March 2022.) With hits like “Everlong,” “The Pretender,” and “Best of You,” Foo Fighters are now one of the most successful rock bands of all time, having won 15 Grammy Awards and is included Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2021.
Grohl has not shared any further information about his daughter. He and his wife met in 2001 at the Sunset Marquis Whiskey Bar. “When I first met my wife, we hung out a few times and I decided I wasn’t ready for a serious relationship, so I just stopped calling,” he said in a 2007 interview with She.”After three months, I had a revelation and called her back. She picked up the phone and said, ‘Oh, I never thought I would hear from you again.’” After having her child, Grohl Tell Time In 2009, he became less interested in touring with the Foo Fighters. “I used to tour nine months of the year. Now I don’t like being away from my kids for more than 12 days,” he said.
“It changed everything I did,” he continued. “When you have kids, you look at life through different eyes. You feel love more deeply and maybe become a little more compassionate. It’s inevitable that that will come into your writing.”
Grohl’s representative had no further comment.
