A new expedition has revealed the effects of time on the wreck of the Titanic.
A large section of the ship’s bow railing has fallen to the seabed due to saltwater and bacterial corrosion.
The missing railing – captured in the 1997 film starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet – was discovered during a series of underwater robot dives this summer.
The ship sank in April 1912 after hitting an iceberg, killing 1,500 people.
