Apple announced new versions of its iPad Air tablet on Tuesday in a short video posted on its website.
Apple says it will come in two sizes: An 11-inch size, which fits older models, and a larger 13-inch model. Both are equipped with Apple’s M2 chip.
Apple has also moved the front camera to the longer side of the device – landscape mode – for better video conferencing, in line with Apple’s more expensive iPad Pro models.
These are the first new iPad models Apple has released since October 2022, the longest period Apple has gone without updating a product line since its launch in 2011. iPad Air, Apple’s mid-range model , last updated March 2022, and comes in a variety of colors, including blue, purple, and yellow.
“This is the biggest day for iPad since it was introduced,” said Apple CEO Tim Cook.
