Monday night’s NFL game between the Buffalo Bills and the Cincinnati Bengals was halted after the Bills were safe Damar Hamlin fell on the field. Midway through the first quarter, Damar, 24, handled the Bengals . wide receiver hooded t-shirtbut when he got up from the blow, he fell to the ground, as told by GAME.

Paramedics rushed to the field and he was taken out of Cincinnati’s Paycor Stadium in an ambulance. He was given CPR on the field for several minutes, before being given oxygen and taken to the hospital. The game was paused for over 30 minutes before the game was officially canceled at 10pm EST.
While we wait to find out how the professional footballer is doing, here are five things to know about Damar Hamlin.
1. He fell after a big block
Damar fell after dealing with wide receiver Tee Higgins, with 5:38 left in the first quarter. Although he seemed fine at first, he later collapsed onto the field unconscious.
He was lying on the field for more than 9 minutes before being taken to the hospital around 9:25 EST. He is said to have been given oxygen and CPR on the field, before being transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, in a Level 1 trauma center, each Twitter.
2. His team and family are supporting him
After the incident, his family came down to the stands to join him on the pitch, according to ABC. After his downfall, coach Bills Sean McDermottmidfielder Josh Allen and wide receiver Peach Stefon appeared teary-eyed as they waited for updates.
3. He is in his second year of professional football
Demar was drafted by the Buffalo Bills in the sixth round, 212th overall, of the 2021 NFL Draft. He signed a 4-year rookie contract with Buffalo on May 21, 2021.
4. He had a successful season
After serving as a substitute during his rookie season, Damar became one of the Bills’ safest starting players after Micah Hyde suffered a late-season neck injury in week 2. This tournament he played 16 games, scoring 91 tackles and 1.5 tackles.
5. He grew up playing in Pennsylvania
Dama grew up in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania, and attended Pittsburgh Central Catholic. During his high school career, he was named All-State First Division Defensive Player and AAAA Class.
He went on to play for the University of Pittsburgh, where as a freshman made his late debut scoring 41 tackles with one interception in nine games played. He was named captain of the team in his final season.
