Jay-Z is at the forefront of charity activities for students in difficult circumstances.

Jay-Z improves youth education
On Friday, (June 7), Jay-Z’s Roc Nation revealed plans to launch a new education campaign for Philadelphia students. EVERYBODY reports that this endowment will support K-12 students from low-income households with $300 million in scholarships to attend a variety of private schools and other prestigious educational institutions each other across the city.
In a statement, Roc Nation CEO of Philanthropy, Dania Diaz, expressed the entertainment company’s longstanding relationship with the people of Philadelphia, emphasizing their commitment to empowering those city innovation.
“We have a unique connection to the people of Philadelphia, so we make it our mission to invest in the long-term success of the city’s changemakers. Impact starts with students and with awareness. We want to equip youth and families to pursue their educational dreams, make their voices heard, and become the leaders of tomorrow.”
Based on Billboard, students will receive different scholarship amounts depending on their educational level. Half-day kindergarten students will receive $2,500, children in kindergarten through 8th grade will receive $5,000 and high school students will receive $10,000. Children with special needs of all ages will be eligible to receive $15,000 in grants. To qualify, a young family’s income must not exceed 250% of the federal poverty threshold, currently $75,000 for a family of four.
Billboard further reports that Roc Nation will raise awareness by hosting daily events from June 10 to June 21. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about the Philadelphia Awards program for for Student Success, also known as Senate Bill 757.
Additionally, Hov and Roc Nation have supported and engaged the Philadelphia community for many years. Roc Nation held its annual Made In America festival, while Alliance reform Supports passage of legislation to assist individuals on parole or probation in Philadelphia.
Hov made the Forbes list
Hov’s large contribution is not surprising since he recently made Forbes’ list of billionaires. The hip hop mogul is ranked as one of the 14 richest celebrities.
Jay-Z appears on the list along with Rihanna. Hov appears at number five on the highly anticipated list with a reported net worth of $2.5 billion. Reports show that Jigga’s wealth increased significantly after he sold Tidal and invested in Uber and Block, among other ventures.
