Grenchen is famous for its International Print Triennial since 1958. The world’s oldest printed Triennial will take place at Grenchen Market from September 10 to 26, 2021. Admission is free.

With the Miniprint 2021 global competition, artists from more than 50 countries will participate in the exhibition. Curator Kardo Kosta (Evilard, Switzerland) is displaying the latest xylographic works by 723 artists in a former bank with a boutique and fashion boutique in an empty commercial building on the market square in Grenchen. No other exhibition in the world has ever featured such a wide range of current works, a Mecca for discovering new trends, names and works. The Grenchen Art Association has organized the Grenchen Triennial, an international exhibition of original prints, every three years since 1958 and is always on the lookout for new trends and works that are later exhibited in museums and worldwide collection. Artists like ARPenk, Sugai Kumi, Toni Tapies, Georg Baslitz, Leiko Ikemura or Lill Tschudi were featured in Grenchen when these names were barely known! With the 22nd Grenchen Triennial and with more than 1.5 million visitors searching for the announcement of the contest on the Internet, the exhibition guarantees new discoveries in original print!

The Swiss town of Grenchen in Mittelland has been actively promoting original prints since the 1950s. At first it was the galleries Toni Brechbühl, Galerie Bernhard with Hans Liechti, later Kunstverein and the Association of Museums. Art and today is the Grenchen Art Museum with its graphic art collection as well as the Kunstgesellschaft Grenchen with its members and volunteers helping to give original prints a platform.
