’21 Saudi Cup Champion Mishriff came to study in France in ’23


Prince AA Faisal’s Mishriff group 1 multi-winner best known worldwide for defeating Quack at the 2021 Saudi Arabia Cup (G1), will attend the tournament at Sumbe’s Haras de Montfort et Préaux in France in 2023.

5 year old son of Make-believe currently training with John and Thady Gosden, assigned for the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe (G1) on October 2. He is likely to race in the Breeders’ Cup on November 5 at Keeneland.

Despite not winning in five starts this year, Mishriff has competed in all of his races since the 2022 Saudi Arabia Cup, where he ran 14th in February at King Abdulaziz Racecourse. Since then, he has won minor awards in top company, most recently finishing fourth in the Irish Championship (G1) at Leopardstown.

The explosive year for Mishriff is 2021, when he catches the Longines Dubai Sheema Classic (G1T) after winning the Saudi Cup. Later that year, he had another victory on the pitch at the Juddmonte International Stakes (G1) in York.

In 2020, he captured the Club Prix du Jockey (G1) in France, which Sumbe referred to in a September 27 press release as “the ultimate stallion race.”
