2024 Honda Prologue previews automaker’s electric future


Honda gave a glimpse into its future because it predates the games for the electric era.

On Thursday, the Japanese automaker revealed 2024 Honda Prologue electric crossover’s exterior and interior along with several dimensions to provide some perspective ahead of the car’s arrival in 2024.

The clean, simple exterior design hints at Honda’s next-generation lineup, with polished metal panels that focus on aerodynamics. The slim LED horizontal lighting at the front shows off the current Honda design language while the rear is a new take on The latest HR-V compact crossover.

Honda notes that the signature H badge has been replaced on the rear doors with the full Honda brand name printed in an overly stylized typeface. The Prologue will be available with 21-inch wheels and a panoramic roof, the automaker also confirmed.

Inside the opening is a mix of bits from Honda and General Motors, the latter of which also provides the vehicle’s platform and battery technology, as well as the production site.

Standard 11.0-inch digital gauge cluster and 11.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, with volume knob, don’t match 2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV or 2024 Blazer EV whose prologue shares most of its contents. But the steering wheel and climate controls appear to be the same or similar to those found in the GM brethren.

Honda says the Prologue runs on a 121.8-inch wheelbase, about 8 inches longer than 2023 CR-VAT. GM hasn’t released hard specs for the Equinox EV or Blazer EV, but that wheelbase is the same. Cadillac Lyriq which also uses the platform and battery found in Honda and two Chevrolets, called Ultium Technology. Honda says the overall length of the Prologue will be 192.0 inches, about four inches shorter than the current Lyriq and Pilot, and about 10.0 inches longer than the Passport.

Pricing hasn’t been announced, but Honda says that when the Prologue launches in 2024, it will sit above the CR-V and join the Passport in the automaker’s lineup. Honda Passport 2022 is priced at 40,320 USD.
