2024 Emmy Nominations: See the Full List Here
Although HBO True Detective: Night Country won 19 citations—making it the most nominated project in the Emmys’ limited series or anthology category—it looks like it will be a smaller player in limited series than Netflix Baby reindeer—received just 11 nominations, but is expected to win several major awards on Sunday night. Hometown Night left the Creative Arts ceremony empty-handed; Baby reindeer won two awards, while Netflix’s stylish limited series Ripley got three. (While Ripley Having won a total of 13 Emmy nominations, it also looks likely to be beaten by Baby reindeer important place.)
There are a number of snubs and surprises to be found in the full list of Emmy nominations, including an incredible performance for Morning program—an Apple TV+ hit that really seems to have won over the Television Academy, earning 16 nominations, the same number as HBO’s more critically acclaimed series Trick. (Tricks didn’t win any Creative Arts Emmys, but Morning program went away with two.) The star-studded Showtime project The Curse-feature Nathan Fielder and was recently named best actress twice at the Oscars. Emma Stone—was completely wiped out by the Television Academy, failing to garner a single nomination. The Emmys also paid significant attention to the Apple series. Royal Palm And Chemistry Lessons, and received a rather reserved reception when it first debuted this season.
Prime Video TV series also performed well in the nominations: Drama Mr. and Mrs. Smith And Radioactive dust Both earned 16 nominations. The latter was a video game adaptation, an experimental genre that isn’t always recognized by an organization like the Television Academy—but voters responded well to both this year’s nominations and 3 Body problems, a difficult-to-adapt sci-fi series on Netflix had an unexpectedly good showing with a total of six nominations. Perhaps it’s the show’s pedigree—it’s first big project Supervised by David Benioff And DB Weiss Since their huge success on HBO, Game of Thrones, won numerous awards during its eight seasons on air—which is something to be thankful for.
