Polestar on Wednesday announced a new batch of updates to the Polestar 2 for the 2023 model year.
The Polestar 2 coming in 2021 and saw the lineup expanded with single engine model for 2022. Pulling out of Tesla’s manuals, Polestar plans to provide ongoing updates to its lineup, with changes coming in 2023 bringing new design options, along with more range and power more powerful for dual engine model.
The highlight is a power upgrade designed for the dual-engine model, adding 68 hp and 15 lb-ft of torque. It can be purchased separately or alongside an existing Performance Package, which adds key chassis models such as Ohlins dampers and upgraded wheels, tires and brakes. The Performance Plan costs $5,500. Polestar has yet to announce the cost of its own power upgrade.

Without the power upgrade, this dual-engine model makes 408 hp and 487 lb-ft. The single-engine model, with the engine in the front axle, has a capacity of 231 hp.
Polestar says the software tweaks will also increase the dual-motor model’s range to 260 miles, up from the 2022 model’s 249 miles. No changes to the 270 range are expected. miles of single-engine model.
Another important change concerns the heat pump that comes with the $4,200 Plus Package. It now runs optimally in temperatures between 20 degrees F and 77 degrees F, which Polestar says can improve range by up to 10%. This change is also achieved through software, Polestar will provide an over-the-air update to existing Polestar 2 hatches equipped with a heat pump.

There are also new exterior colors Space and Jupiter, which Polestar describes as “metallic black” and “golden gray with red scales”. The available standard 19-inch and 20-inch wheels also get a new design, while the available Nappa leather trim is available in a new gray color. Other changes for 2023 include a removable sunshade for the panoramic glass roof and an upgraded app-connected cabin air filter.
2023 Polestar 2 starts shipping in September. Prices start at $49,800 for the single-engine model and $53,300 for the dual-engine model. Both numbers include a $1,400 destination fee.
