Lincoln on Monday announced the 2023 Corsair adopts a new, lane-changing version of the brand’s Activeglide driver assistance system, among other updates.

Activeglide, Lincoln’s version of the Ford Bluecruise, is a semi-autonomous driving system designed for the highway. Similar to Cadillac’s flagship Super Cruise system, the Activeglide can mostly handle itself on pre-mapped highways but still requires constant supervision by the driver, who must be ready to take on under circumstances. emergency. Activeglide introduced on Navigator 2022 and can currently control throttle input, braking and steering for a single lane at speeds up to 80 mph, but the version launching in 2023 Corsair adds automatic lane change. Ford’s Bluecruise system has also upgraded with this feature. Super Cruise has had this feature since March.

When using the latest version of Activeglide, the driver can change lanes just by touching the turn signals. The system can also suggest a lane change if there is a slower vehicle ahead.

However, the technology updates don’t end there. An updated blind spot monitor adds a warning light to the side mirror caps and will apply a push to the steering system if the driver tries to change lanes manually while another vehicle is in the blind spot. .
