2023 Honda ZR-V launched in Japan with hybrid engine

A new model coming soon Honda’s motobike‘S SUV and it’s called ZR-V. It was revealed for the Japanese market before pre-orders started in September of this year. European buyers will have to wait until 2023 before the ZR-V becomes available here.

The brand new model will be located with HR VUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU, CR-V and e: Ny1and is set to compete in the C segment SUV field. It will compete with cars like Toyota RAV4, Nissan qashqai and Kia Sportage.

The original model was announced at the preview of the upcoming e:Ny1 Prototype, which will be made available as full EV. Unlike that car, hybridisation will be the maximum amount of electrification in the ZR-V as Honda says it believes mixture Power still plays an important role in reducing CO2 emissions and helping customers transition to zero-emissions driving.

The ZR-V has two powertrain options. One is the same 2.0-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine we’ve seen in the new Civic with 181bhp and 315Nm. torque. The other is a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder gasoline. Both engines will be mated with CVT transmission, although the e:HEV has a two-engine hybrid system that Honda calls ‘e-CVT’.

Most of the ZR-V will likely be front-wheel drive, but Honda is also offering four-wheel-drive versions of both powertrains that the company says “customers drive on snow with peace of mind.” more focused by realizing outstanding performance in turning and climbing snowy roads.”

The ZR-V’s exterior isn’t as bold as the classic, all-electric styling Honda e – it closely resembles the new Civic in terms of design. The sleek headlights and curved taillights are similar to Honda’s popular hatchback, and the front grille is a departure from the Japanese automaker’s current styling. There are wide wheel arches to accentuate the ZR-V’s stance as well as twin exhaust pipes and a rear roof spoiler.

Inside, we see Honda’s 10.2-inch digital dial display along with a 9-inch touchscreen on the dashboard. The cabin compartment is designed quite minimalist with a horizontal line on the dashboard, integrated with ventilation holes. Honda says it “offers plenty of user-friendly storage space” and “a high-level center console separates the front seats to create personal space for the driver and front passenger.”

Given that the ZR-V will fall between the HR-V and the CR-V in terms of size, we can expect the price of the Honda ZR-V to also split the other two with a starting price of around £30,000.
