So we asked a few people in the fashion industry, many of whom have perfected their poses over the years, using Instagram to document their looks, for their tips on how to do this. For NYC-based model Sarah Kimposing begins with getting to know myself: “As a person with body dysmorphia, I must make a conscious effort every day to get to know my body because I believe that to feel confident, especially is that in swimwear, I have to become physically, emotionally and mentally one,” she said.
“People are experts at posing to fit their bodies into social stereotypes”, style maven Anna-Lotta Martina Nanne speak. She notes that what you see on social media should always be considered salt in the water. “Women in general have gone to great lengths to fulfill what society expects of us, the way we look and the way we present ourselves,” she said. “Ultimately, it’s not about posing to please others; it’s your vibe and happiness that determines your body confidence.”
