When the police checked her luggage, they found no gold in it. But when the woman was taken for a physical examination, police found three packages of the gold compound cleverly hidden inside her inner garment.
Police recovered one pack of gold compound from her panties and two from her bra. Three sachets contain 1.8kg of gold compound.
Police sources said the woman had traveled to Dubai for a six-day holiday and told her parents she was going to the Gulf for a job interview. She allegedly agreed to act as a carrier for the amount of Rs 60,000. It is known that it was a friend of hers who had previously acted as a transporter who introduced her to the smuggling ring.
Police said the woman was being questioned to identify others involved in the smuggling operation.
Police said the seized gold will be presented to the court and a detailed report will be submitted to Customs for further investigation.
