12-Day-Old Girl Among 2 Children Killed In Cylinder Explosion In Noida Home

Two children, including a 12-day-old girl, were killed and four other family members seriously injured in a fire that broke out after a cooking gas cylinder exploded at their home here on Sunday. early Sunday morning, officials said.
Police Chief Pradeep Kumar Choubey said his department received information at 2:52am about a fire at a ‘pucca’ house in the JJ cluster in Sector 8.
“The distance to the site from the nearest fire station is about 2.5 kilometers. Two water trucks with firefighters arrived on the scene four minutes later and found six family members with burns from the fire. Among them, a 12-year-old boy and a 12-day-old newborn girl died in the incident,” Choubey said.
The finance director said the fire was extinguished after 20 minutes, adding that the fire was initially triggered by an explosion in an LPG tank kept in the house.
According to the official, the injured were taken to a district hospital here but were later transferred to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi.
He added that the local police have started legal proceedings in the case.
