A “terrorist” attack on a Russian military training site in the Belgorod region bordering Ukraine left at least 11 dead and 15 injured, Russian news agencies said on Saturday, leading source from the Department of Defense.

Two citizens from a former Soviet country opened fire during training and “both were killed in retaliation,” the ministry said in a statement run by state news agencies. .

“On October 15, two nationals of an CIS country carried out a terrorist act at the training range of the Western military district in the Belgorod region,” the defense ministry was quoted as saying.
