NLE speaks up about the list of best rappers
The list, released on Thursday (September 12), prompted a disappointed reaction from NLE Choppa for not including him in the top 20 rappers.
The Memphis traitor responded by posting a 6-minute long post on social media.
“Whoever made that Complex list, I just want to tell you one thing: You need to go play rock and roll or something,” Choppa said. “See, I’ve tucked my tail, I’ve tried to be more positive, I’ve tried to be a light for these people. But you all drive me crazy. You guys keep fucking with me.”
NLE Choppa clarified that he was not disparaging any of the artists on the list. However, he argued that the list could have included 21 musicians, which would have allowed him to be included.
In the clip, the ‘Walk Em Down’ host said he’s got something coming up in October, but will focus on promoting his current music for the time being.
Choppa then touted his accomplishments by discussing merchandise sales and sold-out shows. He also credited NBA YoungBoy for his success, noting that both had achieved a lot in their early 20s.
“Go see the certificate, tell me who beat me, respect me. I’m only in my early 20s, no one has done it like me. I’ll make you respect this shit one way or another. Who dominated this whole year, in the macho atmosphere? Come on, don’t fuck with me. Tickets are sold out everywhere.” NLE continued.
