Fatman Scoop’s Departure Revealed
On Saturday, August 31, a message shared via Scoop’s official Instagram account revealing “the passing of the legendary and iconic rap artist”.
The message continues to say, “Last night, the world lost a radiant soul, a beacon on stage and in real life.”
“Fatman Scoop was not only a world-class performer, he was a father, a brother, an uncle and a friend,” The message continues. “He was the laughter in our lives, a constant source of encouragement, unshakable strength and courage.”
The announcement noted that Scoop was “the undisputed voice of the club.” It also concluded that Scoop would be missed. However, it also noted that he would be honored for his “his extraordinary life and the countless lives he touched.”
“Fatman Scoop’s legacy is one of love and light, and it will live forever in our hearts and memories,” the message read.
According to TMZFatman Scoop’s tour manager, Pure Cold, also confirmed the rapper’s departure. The manager reportedly shared a message via his Instagram account on Saturday, August 31.

According to the source, Scoop performed at Town Center Park in Hamden, Connecticut, on Friday, August 30. During his performance, he apparently suffered a medical emergency on stage.
At the time, it was reported that the 53-year-old singer had been taken to a local hospital. Furthermore, Hamden Mayor Lauren Garrett issued a statement asking the public to keep the rapper in their “thoughts and prayers.”
